New attraction---Blake Brown of Metropolis will be the entertainer on May 17 from 6 - 9 Another announcement: Guest Chef night will be May 24 with Andy Mabry taking over for Tom Tucker. Tom gives Andy very high marks in the culinary arts world. Stop by that night and experience the Chef's world of Andy Maybry. June 7, Sat, Father's Day Antique Car Show noon on Entrance charge of $ 5.00 per person with the proceeds going to the Heather Treat Memorial Fund of Johnson County. Call now and make reservations to see a great car show. Music will also be provided. October 17, Fri, Dinner Theater 7 pm November 27, Thurs, Thanksgiving Dinner December 6, Sat, Open House-winery & rest. December 19, Friday, Dinner Theater 7 pm Wednesday Dec 31-----New Years Eve party 8pm on reservations required. Whichever event you are interested in, call the winery or the restaurant for details. Dedication Winery Hours We are changing the winery hours to match the restaurant's hours. Starting on Friday, November 9, the winery hours will be: Monday & Tuesday 10 am - 6 pm Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 8 pm Sunday 11 am - 5 pm Birdfest Friends The Canada Goose population has frequented us by as many as a 70 count of birds. It seemed like the wetlands was full of nothing but the honker. They are an impressive looking group.

WINEAUX'S RESTAURANT 618-658-8353 Coming in June! I will be entertaining and training a new vineyard keeper and wine master. His name is Britain Fretz. Stop in and share a hello to Britain. By the way, Britain is my grandson who just finished the 9th grade in Sylvania Schools, a suburb of Toledo, Ohio. When he becomes of age, he will take over the winery. Another note! His mother, Traci Fretz will assume the direction of Wineaux's Restaurant in the future. Traci is my daughter. At that time I will retire. When traffic dictates, Wineaux's will be open on Wednesdays and Thursday early evenings but will not serve the Dinner menu. There will be a lighter type menu for these days The Dinner menu will only be served on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Special notice--Wineaux's Restaurant will be closed on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm for a special occasion. I'm providing a get-to-gather for the teachers, staff employees and Board members of Summersville Grade School in Mt Vernon who were there when I was superintendent. I want to honor these people for doing an outstanding performance (and say thanks) in the education of those students attending. This was a great teaching and working staff and need to be honored. I'm appreciative that I had the opportunity to work with such a great staff. We will only close the interior of the building. The deck of the restaurant and winery will still be open to the public. here!!! Wineaux's Restaurant Good news for wine drinkers. We will start selling wine by the bottle for use at the table. We also can serve the bottle in a bucket filled with ice. This will keep it nice and cold while you use it. Swags will adorn the tops of the windows for a more dressier approach. Outside lighting is being worked out and hopefully it will be up soon. Stop in and see us.
